Personal Fitness/Health Curriculum 2019-2020

We are combining the Personal Fitness & PE classes from last year.  We will focus quite a bit on CHARACTER EDUCATION and how to treat others with kindness and respect in order to change the climate of our classroom and building.  The kids will learn and focus on a new word each week as we try to put it into practice.

Respect, Responsibility, Safety, Productivity:  We will continue to practice these concepts on a regular basis.

Rules & Procedures:  These will be practiced throughout the year, as needed.

Most of my lessons will fit into one or more of the following categories:   Balance, Endurance, Coordination, Agility, Speed, Power, Plyometrics, Strength, Flexibility, Rhythm, Focus, and Cooperation.  Lessons will be varied and will include as many physical activity options as possible.  My goal will be to introduce the kids to fun fitness options and increase their knowledge of the above fitness components.  I hope to inspire their love for physical activity healthier decision-making.  We will also be talking about nutrition and environmental health.  With the addition of new policies for school health and wellness, we may also talk about the brain, body systems, personal safety, and childhood obesity.
